Jim brings his authors’ ideas and experiences to life in close collaborations
and produces polished, memorable manuscripts.

“Since you began writing about television and the arts from California, your coverage of the beat has been terrific. There has been one rich piece after another, a wonderful feast for our culture-hungry readers. Last month, your explanation of the racial divide in the popularity of television programs was particularly smart and fresh. You broke new ground with this important piece. For all this great work you have won a Publisher's Award, your sixth.”

Praise for Early Detection: Catching Cancer When It’s Curable, by Bruce Ratner and Adam Bonislawski, OR Books.

“My mother died from breast cancer when I was 11 and there is not a day that I don’t wish we had detected it sooner. This book is an engaging, informative and hugely important work that will save lives, especially if policy makers take up the authors’ plea to fund more early detection testing.”
